Aziza came, saw and conquered – Jonathan

WARRI – PRESIDENT Goodluck Jonathan has described the late Urhobo Progress Union, UPU President General, Maj-Gen Patrick Aziza as a true Nigerian who came, saw and conquered in his sojourn on earth.

President Jonathan who was represented by the Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Dr. Steve Oru during the funeral service of Aziza said the death of Chief Aziza is a loss to the Urhobo nation, Delta State and the country.

He said: “Aziza was a quintessential achiever,a successful man who lived a good life worthy of emulation.”

While extolling the leadership qualities of Aziza, Delta State Governor, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan, said “After his retirement, Aziza came home to serve his State and his people.

“Before we started the Delta Beyond Oil programme, Aziza has been practicing this programme through his contributions to the tourism industry and agriculture. We as a people are indeed proud of him.”

The officiating minister, Very Rev. Fr Dr. Toni Mario Ozele while taking his sermon from John 14: 1-16, extolled the virtues of the late President-General and charged his children and the entire Urhobo nation to emulate his legacies while on earth.

Dignitaries present include; former Governor of Ogun State, Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola, representative of the Chief Of Army Staff, COAS, Major Gen. E. F Abejirin, Senators Emmanuel Aguariavwodo, Ifeanyi Okowa, Major Gen. Ishaya Bamayi (Rtd), Chief Ovadje Ogboru, Obaisi Ovie Omo-Agege, Olorogun O’tega Emerhor amongst others.
