Man U Vs Chelsea: No Falcao, no Costa; Di Maria, Mikel return

Manchester United’s Radamel Falcao and Chelsea’s Diego Costa will sit out Sunday’s clash between the two sides at Old Trafford.

Didier Drogba will lead the attack in the absence of Diego Costa and Loic Remy. It is the Ivorian’s 350th Chelsea appearance.

Filipe Luis continues at left-back with Cesar Azpilicueta suspended and the midfield remains unchanged.

Andre Schurrle, who has been unavailable for the previous two matches is on the bench, as is 19-year-old midfielder Lewis Baker. John Mikel Obi also returns from injury to take a place on the bench.

For Man United, Angel Di Maria has recovered sufficiently from the injury that forced him off early in their last game to start but there is no Falcao.

Marouane Fellaini, on as a sub in that draw at West Brom retains his place. Juan Mata starts. Chris Smalling replaces Phil Jones in defence. Michael Carrick is on their bench for the first time this season.

Chelsea are expected to line up in the following 4-2-3-1 formation:

Courtois; Ivanovic, Cahill, Terry (c), Filipe Luis; Matic, Fabregas; Willian, Oscar, Hazard; Drogba.

Subs: Cech, Zouma, Ake, Mikel, Baker, Salah, Schurrle.

Man United are expected to line-up as follows:

De Gea; Rafael, Smalling, Rojo, Shaw; Fellaini, Mata, Blind; Januzaj, Van Persie (c), Di Maria.

Subs: Lindegaard, Blackett, Carrick, Pereira, Fletcher, Herrera, Wilson.
