ABUJA—THE Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, has called on International Labour Organisation, ILO, and the ITUC-Africa to come to the aid of West African countries currently ravaged by the scourge of Ebola Virus Disease, EVD.
NLC President, Mr. Abdulwahed Omar, who made the call at the interactive session of National Administrative Council, NAC, and Central Working Committee, CWC, of NLC in Abuja yesterday, appealed to ILO not to shy away from responding to EVD as it did with the outbreak of SARS and Avir-Influenza in Asia some years ago.
Omar told ILO and ITUC-Africa to assist the workers in Africa to chart a road-map to deal with the emerging issues from 2014 ILO and ITUC-International Conference with a view to domesticating the recommendations.
