Awka—A player in the nation’s oil and gas industry, Chief Sam Ikefuna from Awkuzu, in Oyi local government area, has joined the race for Anambra North senatorial district on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
This came as a coalition of former elected and transition councillors from the Omabala area comprising Anambra East, Anambra West, Ayamelum and Oyi local government areas, declared support for his aspiration.
He told reporters in Awka yesterday that he was in the race to redress what he called the recurring under-representation of the constituency in the senate.
According to him, the era of absentee representation would be over if he secured the party’s ticket and got elected to the senate in 2015, adding that the people of the zone have ample opportunity to use him to improve their fortunes in the senate.
