A group, Peoples Democratic Party Stakeholders, has said that any attempt to deny the Urhobo nation the right to produce the next governor of Delta State in 2015 would rob PDP of a landslide victory in the presidential elections.
Briefing newsmen in Lagos, Mr. Godwin Mgbabago and Mr. Joe Adigwe said only Obaisi Ovie Omo-Agege who hails from Delta Central could deliver victory to the party.
The group said: ‘’Those fronting and or anointing a neophyte for the governorship seat do not mean well for both PDP and President Goodluck Jonathan.
“On the basis of demography and electoral value, everyone knows the Urhobos control over 60 percent of the voting strength in Delta State.
“Yet, they have been out of power in the state for eight years and their representation in the Federal Government has been limited to two appointments compared to Delta North, which has over 14 appointments.
“If the Urhobo lose the governorship ticket, their block votes will be lost to the President, robbing the party of the landslide victory.”
