BENIN—The Otaru of Auchi, Alhaji Aliru Momoh, Ikelebe III, has admonished the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Edo State to commend the state government in areas where it had done well so as to encourage those holding political offices, rather than always criticising the state government.
He said this while commissioning the Afaso Primary school projects, one of the 42 constituency projects executed by the Majority Leader of the state House of Assembly, Mr. Philip Shaibu.
According to Otaru, who commended the projects executed by the APC lawmaker, “We should learn to stop playing politics with everything. I want to say that the PDP in the state should learn to appreciate success like the one we are seeing today and not only criticising the state government. They should be able to commend the government where it has done well.
“If politics is all about development, the PDP is supposed to join in celebrating this kind of achievement we are commissioning today. Again, if development is all about politics, I feel that both the All Progressives Congress, APC, and the PDP should make the Majority Leader the consensus candidate. That is how politics should be played and not only criticising the other party. That is killing development both in our state and in Nigeria as a whole.”
