Okowa receives certificate of return

ASABA—DELTA State governor-elect, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, alongside his deputy, Mr Kingsley Otuaro, have been presented with Certificates of Return by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.

The presentation which took place at the INEC Delta state headquarters in Asaba was performed on behalf of the chairman of the commission, Prof Attahiru Jega, by a Federal Commissioner in the commission, Dr Ishmael Ibrahim.

Also presented with Certificates of Return were those who won the National Assembly seats in the March 28 elections. They include, Chief Peter Nwaoboshi, Delta North and Senator James Manager, Delta South senate seats respectively.

Others include Onyemaechi Mrakpor, Aniocha/ Oshimili federal constituency, Nicholas Mutu, Bomadi/ Patani federal constituency, Leo Ogor, Isoko federal constituency, Solomon Ahwinahwi, Ughelli/Udu federal constituency and Victor Nwaokolo, Ika federal constituency.

Also presented with certificates of return were Evelyn Oboro, Okpe/Sapele/Uvwie federal constituency, Daniel Reyenieju, Warri federal constituency, Julius Pondi, Burutu federal constituency and Nicholas Ossai, Ndokwa/ Ukwuani federal constituency.

The governor elect, Senator Okowa expressed gratitude to God and Deltans for his victory at the poll and reiterated his commitment to fulfilling his electioneering promises.

Senator Okowa who spoke to newsmen shortly after receiving the certificate also commended INEC for the conduct of the poll which he described as credible, saying that Nigeria’s democracy has come of age.
