Anambra community’s monarch still missing

Nnewi—Ihembosi, a sleepy town in Ekwusigo Local Government Area of Anambra State has appealled to the Nigeria Police to expedite action on the ongoing investigation into the whereabouts of its traditional ruler, Igwe Jerry Okoli, who had been missing in mysterious circumstances since May 25, 2011.

President-General of the community, Chief Ebuka Onunkwo, made the appeal while speaking with newsmen during this year New Yam festival of the town.

Chief Onunkwo, a Cotonou-based businessman, said the entire community was sadde-ned by the development and had been praying and fasting everyday for God to intervene.
The missing monarch was feared kidnapped along Ihiala-Nnewi-Ekwusigo Road on May 25, 2011, while returning from a function and had since not been found.
