Super Eagles midfielder, Michael Babatunde has said that he will be unable to play any part in today’s 2015 Africa Nation’s Cup qualifier against Sudan.
Babatunde missed the reverse fixture in Khartoum on Saturday because of an injury complaint and he has now confirmed that Wednesday’s game against the Falcons of Jediane will come too soon for him.
The 21-year-old did not train on Tuesday along with CSKA Moscow winger, Ahmed Musa.
“I have not completely recovered (from the injury). I am still doing some medical work and will only be fully fit by the middle of (October). I won’t play on Wednesday (today) against Sudan,” Babatunde said.
The midfielder then took the time to plead with Nigerians to support the team on today.
“I believe that if we beat Sudan (on Wednesday), we will win our remaining two games (against Congo and South Africa).
“That will see us qualifying for the (Afcon) so I am begging the fans to please support us and give us the necessary drive.
“The spirit in camp is very high and we badly want to win this game,” the Volyn Lutsk man said.
Babatunde has seven senior caps for Nigeria.
