BENIN CITY — CRISIS is looming in the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Edo State as some leaders of the party, Wednesday, discredited the screening committee set up by the party in Edo South senatorial district, saying it was an attempt by some leaders to impose their stooges as candidates of the party.
A chieftain of the party in the state, Okharedia Ihimekpen, who also declared that it would be sacrilegious to give preferential treatment to some aspirants of the party who recently defected to the PDP, insisted that those who recently defected must be treated as prodigals.
He also said the party believed strongly in zoning and warned that those trying to abandon the zoning arrangement in Edo Central senatorial district of the state did not mean well for the party.
