Edo senator commended over social security bill

Akoko Edo Local Government Council, Edo State, has commended the Senator representing Edo North Senatorial District, in the National Assembly, Senator Domingo Obende, for sponsoring the social security bill, saying it would be of immense benefit to Nigerians

Speaking through the Special Adviser to Local Government Chairman, Mr. Sani Ojo, the council said it had never had it so good.

He said: “Nigerians and Edo North people in particular, were excited when the news of the Act to Provide for the Establishment of the National Social Welfare Commission being sponsored by Senator Domingo broke on Monday.

“The menace of robbers, miscreants and area boys roaming the streets and constituting threats to lives and property would have been addressed by the singular effort of Senator Obende. Those eyeing the senator’s seat should have a rethink and backpedal because we have never had it so good in the history of Edo North. What else can a senator do to empower the people than sponsoring a bill that will eradicate criminality?”
