YOUTHS of Oro nation have called on Akwa Ibom people to disregard recent speculations in the state by group of persons parading themselves as Oro youth leaders within the state capital that they have dropped their earlier agitation to produce the next governor in 2015.
Speaking on behalf of Oro youths Friday at the Civic Centre Iquida in Oron Local Government Area the Prime Minister of Save Oro Youth Group Initiative, SOYGI, Mr. Victor Uwe said such speculations could only originate from faceless and greedy people working against the interest and progress of Oro nation.
Uwe said, “Today, we are challenging the so called Oro youth leaders spreading the false information that the youths of Oro have agreed to drop their agitation for the 2015 governorship race.
“We know all the leaders and even the members of the different youth groups beginning from the Essu Nlap Oro which is the apex youth organisation in Oro nation to Oro Youth Movement, Save Oro Youth Group Initiative, so I can assure you that those spreading the falsehood in Uyo the state capital and in some local media are not Oro youths, but hungry, greedy and political jobbers.”
“So we the youths of Oro gathered here today in this Civic Centre in Oron want to use this opportunity to tell the entire Akwa Ibom people to disregard such speculation because our stance to produce next governor has not shifted ground. As far as 2015 governorship of Akwa Ibom state is concerned, we the Oro youths will resist any intimidation, maneuvering, anything to stop us and that is why we want to correct the falsehood being speculated out there that Oro youths don’t want the governorship any longer.
