A forum, Group of Concerned Lagosians, has described the litigation instituted against a governorship aspirant on the platform of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Senator Musiliu Obanikoro, as an indication that some party chieftains are scared that he would record a landslide victory at the primaries.

The group also said the move was done to ensure that a preferred aspirant emerges as the gubernatorial candidate.
A statement by GCL Coordinator, Mr. Olayinka Sotade, noted that Obanikoro has no dual citizenship as being alleged in the law suit.
His words: “The latest in their character assassination game is a flimsy lawsuit seeking to bar Senator Obanikoro from the polls based on a concocted accusation of dual citizenship.”
“All of this is motivated by a simple fact: the fear that Obanikoro will sweep the primaries landslide and then proceed to win the gubernatorial elections.”
