Don’t involve ministry in your problem, Danagogo tells Igbokwe

By Jude Opara, Abuja

The Minister and Chairman of the National Sports Commission (NSC), Dr. Tammy Danagogo has told one of the parties to the dispute over the administration of football in the county, Barr. Iyke Igbokwe to desist from dragging his name into the matter.

Danagogo who spoke througb his Personal Assistant, Media, Patrick Omorodion frowned at Igbokwe’s allegation that the Minister and the Secretary to the Government of the Federation ( SGF), Senator Anyim Pius were trying to manipulate the outcome of the Barr. Okey Ajunwa Appeals Committee report.

“It has come to my notice that one of the disputants in the lingering crisis of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Barrister Iyke Leo Igbokwe  is alleging that the Sports Minister and Chairman, National Sports Commission, Dr.Tammy Danagogo and the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Ayim Pius Ayim are attempting to subvert the operations of the Appeals Committee of the NFF headed by Barrister Okey Ajunwa.

“Rather than wait for the committee to conclude its work after hearing the appeal brought to it, Barrister Igbokwe has jumped into conclusion that the committee is delaying its pronouncement because of an unsubstantiated allegation of pressure by the Sports Minister and the Secretary to the Government of the Federation.

“It is pertinent at this point to call on Barrister Igbokwe not to drag the name of the Minister into whatever problem he is having with the Nigeria Football Federation or its Election Appeals Committee and therefore should desist from insinuating that the Committee is being pressured by the Sports Minister and the Secretary to the Government of the Federation into subverting the outcome of its finding”.
