LAGOS State Government has revealed that 13 former stars of the Federation Cup, formerly known as the ‘Challenge Cup’ will be honoured and rewarded during the finals.
The finals which will hold at Teslim Balogun Stadium, Surulere, Lagos will see the Federation Cup defending champions, Enyimba Football Club take on Dolphins Football Club in the Men’s final, while the finals of the Women category will be between defending Champions, Rivers Angels and Sunshine Queens.
Lagos State Commissioner for Sports, Waidi Enitan Oshodi said the state was ready to honour 13 former stars of the competition for their past contributions. Giving the names of some of them as Ayo Ositelu, Aloysius Atuegbu, Ogidi Ibeabuchi and Sunday Dankoro who are all going to be honored Post humosuely.
Others are Pa Herbert Omohkaye, George Hassan, Yomi Peters, Peter Fregene, Kadiri Ikhana, Henry Ogboe, Festus Bolaji Okubule, Jonathan Nwaiwu and Peter Anieke who are all expected to be present for the finals.
