Madam Modupe Obafemi had never been to Isolo area of Lagos Lagos. So when the opportunity came during the Yuletide, the mother of eight jumped at it not minding the burstling and hustling in Lagos.
All the way from her home town, Ado-Ekiti, her daughter, Mrs Oyefusi Adenike, who lives in a three- bedroom flat at No 16, Titiloye Street, off Kogberegbe, Isolo, brought her to spend the Yuletide with her family unknown that, step would lead to the mysterious disappearance of the grandmother.
Time was 12noon, Monday, December 29, 2014 when she opted to take her lunch, followed by a siesta and the next thing was that she was spotted in a neighbouring street walking barefooted and heading for an unknown destination.
The security guard in the compound was said to be asleep when the grandmother left the house and the next thing was that he was planning to go back to his home town.
The daughter was scared of informing their relatives in far away Ado-Ekiti on the account that the development lead birth to another tragedy especially now that their father was old.
Sunday Vanguard learned the matter was reported at the Nigeria Police, Isolo Division while the traditional ruler of the town sent a town crier round the town while the victim’s picture had been pasted everywhere.
Now, nobody has come up with information about the victim’s whereabouts but reports from neighbours said she was spotted around 4pm of December 29, 2014 and Friday, January 2, 2015 at two different places.
Speaking with Sunday Vanguard, Mrs Oyefusi said she feared her octogenarian father may be greatly affected should he hear about the development.
‘’I have siblings in Lagos but this was her first visit to Isolo. We have searched all the nooks and crannies of the town without luck and I am greatly affected, ‘’ she said. Asked why the local guard was not arrested, she said, ‘’This did not cross my mind, moreso, he is planning to return to his village but the traditional ruler has been of assistance to me.”
