Bayelsa women who perished in motor accident to be given mass burial

The 11 Bayelsa women who perished in a vehicle accident on Saturday Feb. 14th after a visit to First Lady, Patience Jonathan in Ahoada, Rivers state will be given mass burial. According to Sahara Reporters, the decision to give them a mass burial was reached after pathologists told family members that standard test carried out on the charred remains of the women would take up to 6weeks to ascertain their true identities, a time the family members said was too long to wait. 

Mr Mathew Utolor, husband of one of the victims and a member of staff of the State Broadcasting Corporation, said he could not believe it when he couldn't identify his wife from the charred remains of the accident victims. “I could not believe that I could not identify my wife," he said.
