Federal Government sacks Director of FAAN

The Federal Government has withdrawn the appointment of the Director of finance of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria FAAN Mr. Tochukwu Bede Uchendu in a letter dated 27th April 2015, signed by A A Tsafe director human resource management, for the minister of aviation.

The letter further directed Mr Tochukwu Uchendu to vacate the office until the due process was concluded and formal letter of appointment issued to him.

Last week, the Air Transport Services Senior Staff Association of Nigeria ATSSSAN and National Union of Air Transport Employees NUATE in a petition to the head of service of the federation asked that the 2 directors in FAAN be sacked due to irregularities in their appointments by the Aviation minister and unapproved waiver grants.

The former director was a board member of consumer investment company believed to be owned by the Aviation Minister.The other director of Commercial was accused of granting waivers worth N1bilion to two companies without approval from neither the ministry nor FAAN.
