The Nigeria union of journalists NUJ ,Delta state council has described the election of the new president of Nigeria football federation ,Mr Amaju Melvin Pinnick as the beginning of a glorious era in the nation ‘s soccer history.
A statement by the chairman of Delta state council of the NUJ ,Mr Norbert Chiazor and the secretary ,Churchill Oyowe said the newly elected NFF president ‘s age long passion for sports ,from his undergraduate days in the University of Benin marked him out as a visionary sports patron who would take Nigerian football to enviable international standards.
It expressed optimism that Nigeria would win series of outstanding laurels in continental and global soccer tournaments under the new NFF boss
While congratulating Mr Pinnick ,for his emergence as one of the youngest Nigerians ever to mount the leadership of the apex football body,Delta NUJ urged him to use the feat to set a trail blazing direction in soccer administration in the country.
The statement further tasked him to be magnanimous in victory by promoting the spirit of accommodation and tolerance among all stakeholders in the nation’s football scene.
