All is set for Lagos International Squash Classics – Akindele

Lagos – The Lagos State Squash Association  (LSSA) said on Tuesday that invited international players have arrived for the second edition of the Lagos International Squash Classics.

A statement by the Chairman of the association, Sanya Akindele, said all the 14 invited players arrived the country on Tuesday.

The  tournament would take place at the Indoor Sports Hall of the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Surulere, Lagos.

The championship will hold from Nov. 5 to Nov. 8.

“We have all the internationally-seeded players here already and we look forward to enjoying the best of squash,” Akindele said.

Both the home-based and the international players would contest for the tournament’s prize money of $40,000 (about N6.4million)

The winner in the men’s category will go home with $25,000 (about N4million), while the winner in the women’s category would earn $15,000 (about N2.4million).

Tunde Ajagbe was the only Nigerian player that made it to the final of the tournament in the last edition, which was won by South African, Rodney Dubach. (NAN)
