AS the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, struggles to come to terms with the new leadership in the National Assembly, the Senate President, Bukola Saraki, is consolidating his grip on the Red Chamber.
Already, foreign nations among which includes the United Kingdom, have not only started pledging support to the Saraki’s administration in the Senate but also promising to support the establishment of a stable people-oriented parliament in the country.

The United Kingdom, led the path through a courtesy call on the new Senate President, yesterday, in Abuja.
Speaking during the visit on him by the British High Commissioner, Dr. Andrew Pocook, in his office, Senator Saraki, who noted that Nigerians deserved the best of governance, pledged a very good working relationship with Britain, in order to move Nigeria forward.
The Senate President, who reminded his guest of the task ahead of the new administration in the country, sought the collaboration of the United Kingdom in tackling them, saying only through such collaboration that the challenges could be surmounted.
While commending the continued bilateral relationship between Nigerian and the United Kingdom, UK, during the brief occasion that saw the Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu, in attendance, Saraki assured that the new administration in the country was determined to fulfill its obligations to the betterment of the nation.
He thanked his guest for reinvigorating the mutual understanding that exists between the two countries, stressing that Nigeria will always look forward to Britain in areas of infrastructural development and socio-security.
“I am very delighted to receive Your Excellency in my office barely 48 hours of my resumption in office. This shows the level of commitment the British government has towards the course of Nigeria.”
